Very rare baroque kistbord, a chest that is also a table. This baroque folk art kistbord is a work table with a single door at the front. Decorated with hand carved ornaments true to the baroque style. All four corners are accentuated by hand carved and painted panels, almost giving the appearance of spirals.

Untouched original condition with original paint. Naturally distressed paint after 300 years of use. The top has some minor loss of material in the right back corner – see pictures. Handles and hinges are hand wrought in iron. Traces of decorative paint on both sides, faded due to natural wear. Most likely bouquets, simliar in style to that found on our ‘About us’ page. The width and depth measurements are based on the table top. Objects like this kistbord are very difficult to find as hardly any were made, not to mention in this quality. Made in northern Sweden.
