Swedish country house sideboard from northern Sweden made around the mid 19th century, 1840 to 1850. The sideboard is folk art and has a straight shape with two doors and two drawers. A sideboard is one of the most recognisable country furniture from this part of the country and remains a functional furniture while bringing unique character and history to a home. The depth makes the sideboard easy to place along a wall where it’ll be a statement piece while still keeping the space open.

It has old historic paint from the late 1800s that has become naturally distressed over the years. The distressed paint give an unmistakably authentic patina and the pine underneath shines trough in places. The inside has been left completely untouched which is unusual to see on furniture from this time. The back has the original decoration paint from the 1840s – see close up picture. Healthy and solid frame. The left drawer has the typical ink stain. It’s a common feature as ink was the main stationary of the time.
