Antique blue marbled chest from northern Sweden made during the late 1700s. The chest is very unusual and in untouched original condition. Made in pine with working lock and key. The chest has plenty of hand-wrought iron reinforcements which indicates the chest has been used to store valuables.
The iron details are slightly worn at the corners but nothing that affect function or the integrity of the chest. The chest is an unique piece with the combination of the marbled blue paint, a colour which was very expensive to make at the time, and the iron details. The patina is the genuine result of 250 years of authentic wear and creates a charming rustic surface.
