Gustavian and neoclassical sideboard from Northern Sweden. The sideboard has a straight and smooth shape typical for the Swedish gustavian period. The material is pine and the surface is dry scraped by hand down the original first layer of paint. The sideboard is from 1790 to 1810 and has traces of wear as well as distressed paint. Interior with shelves and drawers just under the table top. Original lock and key in working condition with unusually sturdy hinges in hand wrought iron – see detail picture. Healthy and solid frame with good patina after over 200 years of use. The leftmost drawer is likely newer since the 1800s.
