Armchair Svanen by ARNE JACOBSEN for Fritz Hansen in Denmark. Designed during the 1958 and later introduced on SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen the year 1960. SAS Royal Hotel was the world’s first designer hotel and a place where many danish designers introduced their work.
The chair is made using the same technique as Ägget, where the frame is cast in glassfiber with foam. The technique was new and advanced during the 1950s and 1960s which made the chairs stand out. This chair has new padding and new navy blue upholstery. It is likely from the early 1960s, in good vintage condition consistent with age and use.
