Folk art country sideboard from northern Sweden made during the early 1800s, around 1820 to 1840. The sideboard is painted pine with the original paint and authentic distress of time. The patina is genuine to the sideboard and adds a wealth of authentic charm and character. The sideboard is the classic Swedish antique and this is a great example with an elegant design and solid construction that has stood the test of time.
The sideboard has an extra shelf around the back which is quite unusual to see on this type of furniture and a special detail to note. The edge of the shelf also has a very nice profiling – see pictures. The interior is wood bare and has never been painted. Working lock and keys. Height is measured to the table top.
