Gustavian country console table from northern Sweden. The table is a Swedish country house furniture from the early 19th century, 1810 to 1820, and it’s an unusual model. The table top has a round demi lune shape and also a curved drop leaf table top. The extra table top means it can be used a dining table or similar when in need of extra space and then as a functional console table the rest of the time. The table also has a decorative leg frame with a curved front and hidden gate to support the drop leaf table top.
The table is pine with a drawer in the rim and it has the original light or white paint. The paint shows some distress and traces of use. The leaf table top has a burn mark, likely from a hot pot. Healthy and solid frame. The table has a diameter of 117 cm and the depth when the leaf is down is 61 cm. The drawer has an older repair inside – see picture.
