Rare antique console table in gustavian style from Sweden. The table is from the first years of the 19th century, around 1800 to 1810. The table is made by hand in solid pine with a hand-crafted decor in the shape of leaves that wrap around the apron. Straight tapered legs typical of the gustavian period leads to another carved decor and a wide drawer that’s almost invisible. The drawer was made to hide in plain sight and perfectly blends with the apron.
The table is in untouched original condition with the first layer of original paint which has the authentic distress and patina of time. There are traces of use but this is a beautiful, functional and stable table that is almost 250 years old. One of the back legs is ever so slightly bent but it’s nothing that effect the function. Height to the apron is 60.5 cm.
