Swedish console table in gustavian style from the mid 1800s, around 1860. The table is from northern Sweden and a so called demi lune table where it’s made in a half circle. The table has four straight tapered legs and a curved bottom edge. The edge is an extra detail as is the two-toned table top. The gustavian influences can be seen in particularly the legs and shape of the table top. Both which have the classic elegant and refined look with carefully considered proportions.
The table is painted with the original faux paint which is a technique where the paint imitates a different kind of wood or material. It has some minor signs of wear after almost 200 years of use. The frame is made in solid pine and is healthy and solid.
