Swedish folk art box made by hand in solid pine. This box is made in northern Sweden during the mid 1800s, around 1850, and is in original condition with the first layer of paint. The box still has the lock but the key is missing so it’s not functional. The paint has distress and patina after 200 years of use. Boxes like these were used to store important documents and smaller valuables.
